Curators Notes:
The Hour opens with the much anticipated Joe Bonamassa acoustic live album which is fantastic. Check out the version of “Hummingbird” also. The great-grandfather of Rock and Roll, Chuck Berry has a new one out which was a multiple play this past week. Four of the albums featured this week have been released in June. Hot and Fresh. Standouts for this week – to these ears at least were the Big Joe Shelton, Vin Mott, Andy T Band and Oscar Wilde albums. Ok, nearly all of them. Rock has the cowbell, blues has the harmonica and the jugband. This weeks’ “More Jugs” song is from the Birmingham Jug Band. Thanks to the Roots Music Report and Blues Music Magazine and many others for feeding the list with new discoveries.
Enjoy!

Have you heard the new Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears that came out back in February? It’s definitely more of a modern blues-rock sound. One of my favorites of the year so far.

Thanks for the note. Black Joe Lewis made the list one week earlier. The traditionalists may cringe, but I really enjoyed that album as well. Nicely done on your fortnightly lists! I am a new follower and fan.
